There promises to be loads to do this summer in the South West!
To kick things off, there's the Badminton Horse Trials 2010, starting on the 30th April 2010 and set in the beautiful grounds of Badminton House.
It's a really challenging course, especially for cross-country, and riders such as the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips attract huge crowds, often of over more than a quarter of a million people, and has a great atmosphere.
Looking for a day out or a short stay with the children? The Royal Bath & West Show 2010 is an ideal choice, as it contains hundreds of stall and attractions, as well as being a major agricultural show. It runs from the 2nd to the 5th of June, and is great for teaching kids about the outdoors and the countryside while also having fun on the rides!
Finally, there's one small festival you may not have heard of that will be happening in the South West this summer... Glastonbury 2010!
If you want to stay nearby, or escape from the mud, book a hotel now and make sure you don't miss out on one of the biggest festivals of the year! Headliners currently include Stevie Wonder, U2, Jack Johnson and Muse, with more to be announced, so it'll be one amazing day!
Glastonbury starts on 23rd June 2010, and rounds off a summer to remember in the South West...

Bovey Castle5*
Bovey Castle sits majestically high on the edge of the valley overlooking all that surrounds her, within 368 square miles of the Dartmoor National Park, Devon. Below the beautifully restored Edwardian gardens, the championship golf course meanders along the valley and the burbling river Bovey sparkles and glistens as it makes it way down from the high moor. Originally built as a private house and sporting estate, today it exudes elegance & luxury and offers something for everyone, from the indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and gym, to our array for activities on offer (archery, fishing, rifle shooting etc) to 18 holes on the golf course, and our Elemis Spa. Should you prefer a quieter time, we have lots of comfy lounges to relax in, 3 restaurants, and are surrounded by fabulous countryside for walking.
