The Badminton Horse Trials are one of the most prestigious and famous equine events of the year, attended by the great and the good of the horse world, including royalty. Set in the grounds of the beautiful Badminton Estate, the trials are a punishing cross-country course that tests the bravery and skill of both horse and rider. One of the competitors is often Zara Phillips, daughter of the Princess Royal (HRH Princess Anne), and this year the action takes place from the 30th of April until the 3rd of May, making it a weekend to remember!
It's a three day event, with the cross-country day attracting up to a quarter of a million visitors, making it the second largest paid-entry sports event in the world, and the largest in the UK. These huge crowds often stay nearby, so make sure if you plan to you get your hotel booked early!
