The Royal Bath & West Show is one of the biggest outdoors events in the country, attracting over 155,000 people last year. It's a huge agricultural show, but many people attend for the great day out to be had too! It runs from the 2nd to the 5th of June this year at the Royal Bath & West Showground near Shepton Mallet.
The huge showground has a main showring where the main events and entertainment takes place, but there's plenty of fun to be found in the fairground rides, the great market stalls and tents, and in visiting the animal enclosures. There's a canoeing lake and off-road driving area, and sometimes you can try these out.
Overall, the event is a great chance to show your children the great outdoors while having fun, see how the agriculture sector works, and to have a great chilled out day in the sun yourself!
So get booking for some hotels nearby - while you can visit for just a day, if you want to make the most of it and see everything, at least two days is suggested. You could even take longer and enjoy visits to the other great attractions nearby, such as The Crescent in Bath, Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor (rumoured by many to be the Isle of Avalon in the legends of King Arthur) or Cheddar Gorge and Caves!
